Internal communication channels and metrics

How to choose internal communication channels and measure whether they work, without drowning in dashboards.

Updated 1 November 2026 · talk.app

Map your channels.

List where messages go: email, intranet, chat, meetings, newsletters, signage, video and audio. Note who each channel reaches and who it misses.

Give each channel a job.

Use one channel for urgent news, one for reference, one for conversation. Say what goes where, and tell people.

Measure a few things well.

Track reach, completion and a simple understanding check. Add a short question such as: did this help?

Review quarterly and retire what no one uses.
